Iztuzu Beach

Iztuzu Beach, which consists of a very long sandy beach that extends to the mediterranean sea of Dalyan, is a protected area where sea turtles lay eggs, which is one of the few places in the world.

Karetta Karettas have an ovulation period at Iztuzu Beach between 1 May and 1 October. They lay about 100 eggs at a time in the pits they dig in soft-structured sand, and after a 60-day incubation period, hatching at night, the cubs make great efforts to reach the sea by taking advantage of the moonlight. And those who stay in the day will be destroyed by the sun's light and other animals.

Rock tombs, which have been in their glory for thousands of years, are located on the rocky slopes west of Dalyan. The word Kaunos has no meaning in Helen. In the Lycian inscriptions, Kaunos is referred to as Ksibde. In the inscriptions in other cities around Kaunos, Kaunos is called Kbid.
